- It is required that at least one of the electives be from a discipline other than Sociology.
- Students are encouraged to take electives from at least three different disciplines.
- It is strongly recommended that at least one elective focus substantially on marginalized women (e.g., ENGL 33700 Women Writers, MUSC 11550 Sex, Race, and Power in Pop Music, PHIL 22500 Philosophical Issues in Race and Gender, THEO 23600 Women and Religion, THEO 42011 ST: Religion and the Body, SOCI 22000 Marriage and Families, SOCI 31500 Sociology of Latinas/os in the United States, SOCI 37000 Sociology of Gender).
- Courses not included in this list (e.g., ENGL 22100 The Experience of Literature: Latinx Literatures & Experience, PHIL 11200 Philosophy for Self Care ) may be considered for inclusion toward a minor when a significant course project covers women's and gender studies topics. This exception must be confirmed in writing by the student's minor advisor and the course instructor.
